Kuany & Basmisile combine for 41 points as the Rams capture 4th straight win

(RICHMOND, VA) VCU captured its 4th consecutive win on Tuesday night as they defeated the Loyola Chicago Ramblers 74-67. VCU was without their 3rd leading scorer Zeb Jackson for the 2nd consecutive game with back spams. Joe Bamisile led the Rams with 25 points & Dame Adelekun led the Ramblers with 14 points. This matchup had 11 lead changes and 5 ties. 



The Ramblers got on the board first with Miles Rubin’s layup with 18:33 remaining in the 1st half. Kuany Kuany tied the game 25 seconds later. VCU went on a 7-0 powered by a 3-pointer from Joe Bamisile to put the Rams up 9-4 with 15:02 remaining in the half. Christian Fermin’s dunk capped VCU's 6-0 Run to give the Rams a 19-13 lead with/ 11:34 remaining in the 1st half. The Rambler struck back on a 6-0 run to cut the Rams lead to 3 (26-23, 8:10 remaining). Dame Adelekun's layup and jumper put the Ramblers up 30-28 (6:14 remaining). The Ramblers extended their lead to 6 (36-30:30 seconds left in the 1st Half). Joe Bamisile hit a 3-pointer with 1 second left to cut the Ramblers lead as they led 36-33 at halftime. 


Kuany Kuany's 3-pointer with 15:42 remaining in the 2nd half put the Rams up 40-39. Rams defense held the Ramblers to 33% shooting in the 2nd half. VCU went on a 13-1 Run to give the Rams a 67-55 lead with 3:41 remaining. Loyola went on an 8-0 run to cut the Rams lead to 4, as the Rams led 67-63 with 1:14 left. The Rams converted on 7-of-8 free throws in the final minute to secure a 74-67 win.
