Rams remain undefeated at home, defeats the Revolutionaries 71-51




(Richmond, VA) Following a 64-51 win over Duquesne on Wednesday, VCU Women's Basketball hit the court Sunday afternoon as they faced the George Washington Revolutionaries. Led by Timaya Lewis-Eutsey’s 15 points the Rams defeated George Washington 71-51 and remain undefeated at home.. Essence Brown lead the Revolutionaries with 13 points. 


The Rams connected on all 4 of their field goals to start the game as they led 9-2 (7:32 remaining 1st quarter). Mykel Parham’s layup capped a 10-0 run (4:00 remaining 1st Quarter) as the Rams led 19-4. George Washington’s Nya Robertson lay up at the end of the 1st Quarter as the Rams led by 14 (24-10). 


 Mary-Anna Asare's jumper with 7:35 remaining in the 2nd quarter put the Rams up by 22 (VCU 34-12). The Revolutionaries went on a 7-0 run as they cut the lead to 15 (VCU 34-19 with 4:14 remaining 2nd quarter). The Rams countered with a  Mary-Anna Asare 3-pointer to cap a 6-0 run as the Rams led 40-19. The Rams went into halftime leading 42-24. 


In the 3rd quarter, the Rams increased their lead to 20 as Mykel Parham’s jumper put the Rams up 44-24 with 8:50 remaining. Mary-Anna Asare's jumper with 3:33 in the 3rd quarter gave the Rams a 53-29 lead. The Rams lead 57-33 heading into the 4th quarter. 


Sarah Te-Biasu’s 3-pointer capped a 6-0 run for the Rams as they led 68-40 (5:50 remaining in the 4th quarter). Deniz Torgut's layup with 4:52 remaining gave the Rams their biggest lead of the day as they led 71-40. George Washington finished the game on an 11-0 run to cut the lead to 20 as the Rams won 71-51. 


The Rams (19-3, 8-2 A10 ) will hit the road as they face Saint Louis on Wednesday, February 7th. Tip-off is scheduled for Noon.
